Berkdrums This is só amazing... Most of Mathias' albums work like a magnet on me.. To me Mathias can weave darker and deep moods with spiritual, uplifting, almost heavenly moods like no one else... the sound-quality is so amazing on these re-issues... food for the soul! Favorite track: Himavat (Complete Album - 2016 Version).

"Himavat" is, without a doubt, one of the most important past albums by Mathias Grassow. It´s often used for therapeutic purposes and is still regularly played by radio stations worldwide.

:: 2016 Version - for this version we re-transfered the original DAT Tape to a hard drive - this time in 32 Bit High Resolution. Before it was recorded onto the drive, we ran the file through several analogue instruments to improve the depth and stereo image of the file, because for the old release the original DAT wasn´t properly transfered and it was quite narrow-sounding (left-right and front-back). We didn´t apply any compression/maximizing on it, nor did we use any other digital effects afterwards. The main focus was to profit from the warm sound of full analogue equipment to improve the sound quality and to maintain a higher audio resolution before we rendered the final file, always with the aim to preserve Mathias´ original recording.

The difference is clearly audible on any good speaker or headphone setup - very likely you will find that the new version sounds much more "open/spacious" and has more "depth" – meaning that all the sounds are better focused on the whole axis (left-right and front-back). In other words, the "2016 Version" is much more three-dimensional, while the "Original Version" seems more two-dimensional.
